Brief:
On March 18th, 1900 Charles Humphries, a young Black employee of the McCoy family, was accused of startling the McCoy family daughter after entering her room. That evening, a lynch mob led by the McCoy family surrounded Charles Humphries at his home and shot him more than forty times. No one was held accountable for the murder of Charles Humphries.
