Your generous donation will help Lee County Remembrance Project (LCRP) as it is working to reconcile the racial terror, violence and trauma that occurred in Lee County, Alabama. Donations can be made through the Community Foundation of East Alabama to help further the work of Lee County Remembrance Project. The Community Foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable organization serving as fiscal sponsor for LCRP and has established a fund to accept donations on our behalf.
How donations will help:
Funds will support the production of resources for students and teachers (e.g. educational booklets, databases of our primary source material, etc.), field trip opportunities to the Equal Justice Initiative’s National Memorial for Peace and Justice, and LCRP events. In the future, we will do fundraising for the memorial placement and installation ceremony.
Immediate needs for funds:
· Tickets and travel for non-student groups to the National Memorial for Peace and Justice
· Materials and supplies for the Soil Collection Ceremony
· Printing and dissemination of the book, Lee County’s History of Racial Violence
