About the event
A Seat at the Table: A Juneteenth Breakfast to Carry Memory Forward
Join the Lee County Remembrance Project on Friday, June 19 at 9:00 a.m. for a morning of community, history, and hope.
We are convening at The Nonprofit Center of East Alabama to commemorate Juneteenth — not only as a celebration of emancipation, but as an opportunity for candid reflection on our historical legacy in Lee County. This breakfast serves as the public unveiling of our summer campaign, Carrying Memory Forward, and we extend an invitation for your presence.
Why this morning matters
Juneteenth reminds us that freedom delayed is not freedom forgotten. The Lee County Remembrance Project exists because the history of racial terror in our community — real people, real names, real losses — deserves to be told with accuracy, dignity, and care. That work belongs to all of us.
