About the event
A Seat at the Table: A Juneteenth Breakfast to Carry Memory Forward
Join the Lee County Remembrance Project on Friday, June 19 at 9:00 a.m. for a morning of community, history, and hope.
We're gathering at The Nonprofit Center of East Alabama to mark Juneteenth — not only as a celebration of emancipation, but as a call to honest reckoning with our history in Lee County. This breakfast is the public launch of our summer campaign, Carrying Memory Forward, and we want you at the table.
Why this morning matters
Juneteenth reminds us that freedom delayed is not freedom forgotten. The Lee County Remembrance Project exists because the history of racial terror in our community — real people, real names, real losses — deserves to be told with accuracy, dignity, and care. That work belongs to all of us.
Your ticket to this breakfast directly supports two initiatives to continue…
